Sliding shower enclosure

What is a walk in shower?

A walk in shower is the same as a wet room in the fact there is no step to step over to enter the shower enclosure. They can come completely door free with just a gap to walk into which also is the easiest when it comes to cleaning and maintaining them. Some walk in showers have a drying section where you can dry yourself before leaving the shower enclosure. Others come with sliding or magnetic closing doors and you can even get split screen showers which allows the top screen to be opened so a carer can assist without getting into the shower.  Walk in showers have seriously evolved over the years and there really is everything you can imagine.  Most can be designed and made bespoke to you and your needs.

A wet room or walk in shower is ideal for the whole family, not just those with mobility issues.  A walk in shower is very easy to clean and is a stylish and practical solution for those wanting to enhance their bathroom.  The design of a level access walk in shower reduces slip and fall accidents which is good news all round.

Why choose WISAB?

Here at WISAB we have particular knowledge and expertise within the Care Sector to help vulnerable people stay independent in their own home.  The majority of our clients are the elderly or disabled and over the years we have worked with many care homes, hospitals and sheltered housing facilities. We know all the right questions to ask and have come across every issue imaginable when it comes to bathroom redesigns.

What can be achieved depends on the size of your bathroom and other technical considerations.  It is important to see what space is available.  Is there a corner space, would a quadrant corner shower be ideal? Is there a recess?  Other questions our clients ask us but never think of include: Do I need a pump to assist with the drainage? Do I need an electric shower or have I sufficient pressure to use a shower mixer valve from my existing system? Will my walls need re-tiling and are they suitable to be re-tiled? Would a wet-room, recessed, corner or quadrant shower be most suitable?

Each bathroom is bespoke and each client’s needs are unique.  Because of this a home consultation is the only way to see what can be achieved. This would be a complimentary home consultation with no obligations and NO pressure selling. We want to ensure you get a stylish new bathroom which is exactly built for your needs and your look and feel.  You have to live with the bathroom so it has to be exactly as you want it.   Again this can only be known once we have visited your property and assessed your needs.

Most walk in shower designs can be customised to meet your exact needs.  We have a whole host of bathing aids which can help you be as independent as possible. Whether is a chair, grab rails or a heightened toilet, we have everything to make bathing a pleasure again.   And with the clever design and technology of walk in showers today they can be fitted and installed with minimal disruption.

Because of the many options when it comes to remodelling your bathroom, it is important to know what would help you the most.  Perhaps you know exactly what improvements you need such as needing wheelchair access or a bench seat.  We can help you choose the right solution for your needs.
